Meet New Immigrant Organizing Coordinator: Anita Chombeng!

Dear Leaders in the Presbytery of the Pacific,

There are moments when the Holy Spirit blesses us with a leader for such a time as this. It is with the deepest joy that I introduce our new Immigrant Organizing Coordinator in Pacific Presbytery, Ruling Elder Anita Chombeng. Anita comes to us from the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon and is a refugee seeking asylum in the U.S. With generous grants from Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and the Synod of Southern California and Hawaii, we were able to fund this part-time position.

Please see her impressive bio (below). The previous position was held by Kristi Van Nostran, who has now been recruited by Riverside and San Gabriel Presbyteries, leaving a vacancy for Pacific Presbytery.

We could not be more grateful to God to begin an immigrant-led immigrant ministry here in Pacific Presbytery, and we look forward with great expectation how this will shift, develop and focus our immigrant ministry in ways we have not known.God is so very good. Please join me in giving a warm welcome to Anita!

Grace and Peace,

Rev. Heidi Worthen Gamble,
