Culver City Habitat Build Gets Unanimous Vote

Dear Presbytery of the Pacific,
We give praise to God that on December 14, 2015 at its regular public meeting, the Culver City Council voted unanimously on the consent docket in favor of the Habitat build on Globe Avenue!!!
Although the vote was effortless, getting to this point was not at all easy. However, with persistence, prayer, faith, our fundraising efforts, and some strategic organizing and advocacy, we did it!!! The Habitat build will be located on Globe Avenue, across the street from Culver City Presbyterian Church, in the heart of our Presbytery.

This is the first time Habitat is building on the Westside of Los Angeles, and we rejoice that ten low-to-moderate-income families will be in a safe neighborhood with access to great schools–and that the Globe Avenue neighborhood and Culver City Presbyterian Church will receive some wonderful new neighbors!

Habitat will now begin the process of preparing the Globe Ave. property for the building of ten units. This will involve mapping, zoning, holding neighborhood meetings, applying for permits, etc. We anticipate this will take up to a year, if all goes well.
We will continue to keep the Presbytery informed about the progress of the build, and we thank you for all of your prayers, advocacy and support as we celebrate this good news!!
Merry Christmas,
Rev. Heidi Worthen Gamble, the Presbytery Habitat Team, and the Mission Interpretation and Promotion Committee of Pacific Presbytery
