Both PDA and the Board of Pensions have special funding for caregivers in times of disasters to take breaks. It is essential for the health of the community that its pastors and community leaders are staying healthy and well themselves. Pastor Kimberly left to finish up her sabbatical and asked me to guest preach the following Sunday. 

Staying for the long haul

I told Po’okela Church and the people of Maui  that PDA and Pacific Presbytery are staying for the long haul. We are here for them. At a time when the media has long forgotten about the disaster and most disaster relief organizations leave, PDA pulls in and invests in long term recovery. It’s hard to put into words how much it means for disaster survivors to hear that one year out from the disaster.
